I believe every love story deserves to be told in a way that feels authentic, meaningful, and completely personal. Before becoming a wedding officiant, I spent 25 years as a Registered Nurse, working in pediatric and adult mental health, as well as forensic nursing. My career has always centered around people - being supportive, understanding, and showing up for life’s most important moments. What I didn’t realize at the time was how naturally that would lead me here.
In 2022, a dear friend asked me to officiate her wedding. Ten years earlier, I had hired her as a new graduate nurse for her very first job. Being asked to stand beside her on such an important day felt like a true full-circle moment - and something clicked. During that process, I discovered how much I loved being part of a couple’s story in such a meaningful way. After officiating a few more weddings for friends, I realized I had a gift for connection and storytelling. What started as a favor quickly became a passion, and I knew I wanted to create something of my own. With the help of my four nieces, Hart2Heart Events was born - a name that reflects not only what I do, but who I am. (the “KB” in my logo is a nod to my nickname, Kerr Bear.)
My approach is centered around connection, ease, and authenticity. I take the time to truly get to know each couple so I can create a fully customized ceremony that reflects their relationship - blending heartfelt storytelling, meaningful moments, and a natural, comfortable flow. I guide you through the entire process, offering support with vows, structure, and all the details so you can feel confident and present on your wedding day. Whether your ceremony is romantic and emotional, lighthearted and fun, or somewhere in between, my goal is to create something that feels genuine - not scripted, not one-size-fits-all, but truly you.
When I’m not officiating, you’ll likely find me spending time with my dogs, dreaming about the beach, or cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.

I’ve recently started a new adventure volunteering with KC Pet Project, taking shelter dogs out for adventures, fresh air, and a much-needed break from kennel life while helping them get seen by potential adopters. Through my Instagram page, @adoptme.kc, I’m sharing these outings and introducing people to some truly amazing dogs who deserve loving homes. Whether it’s a walk, a pup cup run, a patio visit, or just time outside the shelter, my hope is to give these dogs more joy, more connection, and a better chance at finding their forever family. This is still a new journey for me, and I’d love for you to follow along as I continue loving, advocating, and cheering these dogs on every step of the way.
